Overview
This bill establishes the Fort Ontario Holocaust Refugee Shelter National Historical Park in New York as a unit of the National Park System. The park will preserve and interpret the history of the 982 refugees who were sheltered at Fort Ontario from 1944 to 1946 during World War II. The park’s establishment is contingent upon the Secretary of the Interior acquiring sufficient land to form a manageable unit, and a management plan will be developed within three fiscal years.
